💡 CLASS 2 OVERVIEW: Setting the Tone for the Journey
Theme: “Intentions Over Technique. Belief Creates Results.”
Goal: The purpose of Class 1 is to help students build belief in themselves as emerging foot zoners and in the power of the Foot Zone itself. This first class sets the emotional and energetic tone for the rest of the training.
Emotional connection is the key. In every class, your goal as an instructor is to create a positive emotional trigger something that instills confidence, connection, and clarity for your students. These moments of emotional resonance help anchor their belief in the work and in their own potential. When a student feels seen, safe, and inspired, lasting transformation begins. Every class should include an intentional opportunity for emotional connection.
🗓️ DAY 1: Connection, Foundations & First Steps
1. Welcome & Introductions: Instructor shares their personal story. Invite students to share why they’re here. Show 15-min “Welcome Video.”
2. Registration & Admin
Verify that electronic forms have been signed. They should have received an email from Bree via Sign Request. These are the forms for our Association that we keep for our State Records. See attached PDF to see. Print off and have students complete two forms: The Financial Agreement and Classroom Attendance. These need to be kept in their student folders. Sign the Code of Ethics in their Student Workbook found in Seminar 1.
We recommend setting clear financial expectations and practices from the start.
While these can be discussed privately before class begins, it's important to review the financial agreement together as a group during Class 1. This ensures that all students fully understand their payment plan, refund policy, and contractual commitments.
Tip: This is also a great time to briefly introduce the energy principle: “What you put out is what you’ll get back.”
Keep this introduction simple—we'll dive deeper into this concept as the course progresses. The goal here is to plant a seed that helps students begin to understand the energetic exchange involved in learning, commitment, and growth.
3. What is the Foot Zone?
4. Benefits of the Foot Zone
5. Building Belief in the Zone
Share stories of transformation through Foot Zoning.Validate their decision to be here. Emphasize: "We zone with intention over technique.” In class 5 we will expand upon this phrase and add “Perfect practice makes perfect technique.”Show the Belief Cycle Discuss “Faith, Knowledge, Belief” and the answers to number 4, 5, and 6 are “Shorter, Faster, Lighter”
6. Precautions of the Foot Zone
Remember the only thing the foot zone can do is open the meridians and bring the body into a state of balance.
You will want to emphasize the amazing benefits of getting a zone when they are in a state of imbalance due to physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual issues. When someone is in a state of imbalance, the Zone becomes a powerful tool to support the body’s natural healing process. That’s when clients often feel the most benefit. As a practitioner, this is where your confidence in the process matters most.
When approaching a client who may have precautions for the zone—we zone
Shorter, Faster, and Lighter.
Shorter On Time: Keep the session time brief to prevent overwhelming the system.
Faster With Your Hand Movements: Work with rhythm and flow to encourage movement through stagnation.
Lighter In Touch: Use a gentle touch to work with the energy not overwhelm it due to pain or pressure.
Teach your students that when they approach these moments with Faith, Knowledge, and Belief, they’re stepping fully into the Belief Cycle. It’s not about doing more—it’s about trusting the process, listening to the body, and zoning with clear intention.
7. Lecture – Begin Presentation & Workbook
Bones of the Feet, Landmarks, Explanation of techniques such as drills, walking drills, and scrapes.
LUNCH BREAK
6. Start Drawing Using Presentation and Mapping Book
Introduce the order of colors and steps: Black, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow. Allow time for students to draw. Remember to pace your class off of the slowest student.
7. End-of-Day Homework
-Have students join our Anatomy Homework and You Were Born Rich Google Classrooms. Instructors are found below.
-Read 8 pages of Zone History (found in Chapter 1).
-Write down personal and class goals.
🗓️ DAY 2: Application, Integration & Intentional Practice
1. Review & Reflect
Discuss History reading done the prior night.Tie history into the evolution and future of the Zone.
2. Complete Student Workbook Lectures
Introduce Tools, Equipment, and Sanitation Practices. Have students reference, "What The Feet Reveal Page in their Student Workbook". Review 12 Guidelines and 5 Mistakes to Avoid.
3. Hands-On Demonstration and Instruction
Instructor explains and demonstrates every movement and position of Area 1 slowly and clearly. Tie in the 12 Guidelines at this time. Consider recording a private Facebook Live or video for review.
The Right Foot demonstration should be slow and intentional, allowing students to clearly observe each movement and understand the technique step by step. When you move on to the Left Foot, aim for a more fluid and natural flow, demonstrating how the signals and hand movements begin to work together in rhythm.
This second foot is a great opportunity to show just how simple and approachable
the zone can be. It helps ease any overwhelmed students that may be feeling nervous and reminds them that confidence will grow with practice.
4. Complete Lecture & Book Content
Finish any remaining topics in Presentation. Introduce Anatomy & Physiology (back of Student Workbook).
Introduce Born Rich book and assign Chapters 1 & 2 for next class.
Introduce Documentation Forms at the back of the Mapping Book.
Introduce Homework Checklist.
Consider making a communication group such as Messenger or Facebook.
5. Practice Time
Allow students time to practice zoning Area 1. Instructor gives supportive feedback and guidance. Try not to over critique at this point. Remember intention overrules technique and they may be overwhelmed.
6. Set the Tone for At Home Practice
Encourage high practice numbers with a casual and confident tone. Encourage higher numbers. Remember, areas 1 will only be taking 15 minutes or so meaning a student can gain a lot of experience and numbers towards their required 100 zones prior to graduation. Ideally, each student should aim for 20-40 zones prior to next class. Remember they don’t know what they don’t know.
Your tone and expectations will help them succeed and set the tone for the remaining classes. As an instructor you will need to celebrate their success while understanding the times they may have less zone numbers, but in a tactful and supportive way. Students commit to how many practice zones they will complete before Class 2.
7. Lecture – Begin Presentation & Workbook
Bones of the Feet, Landmarks, Explanation of techniques such as drills, walking drills, and scrapes.
✅ Instructor Notes & Suggestions
Emotional connection is key—STORIES matter.Flexibility is okay—know your destination and adapt your path.Create a safe, validating space. If drawing is delayed, ensure it's fully covered on Day 2.Homework check-in and discussion help reinforce learning. It’s a good practice to follow up privately with students a few days after class to see how they are doing. At the end of the day, remind students to make their payment and sign their attendance record.
You shouldn't need to print off anything for the anatomy homework, but if you would like any of the PDFs, you can view or download them here.
